02/20/2005: "Eating Plans"
Well, I'm still on the "eating plan" sorta.......
Some of y'all didn't know about it, but what with high cholesterol not coming down (staying barely under 200 even with meds), Dr Fred said he and I needed to go on a diet.
Needless to say, I don't diet; but Hubby thought he might inspire me and actually spent money to get an eating plan. It said I'm kinda hypoglycemic and slow of metabolism, and set out a plan of eating and exercise designed to help me repair the body functions. So.....
I walk two miles three to four times a week (at a decent but not drastic pace) and eat five to six times a day according to pre-designated food groups. Also, Mom and I are aquacizing twice a week. So....
I had to get a new swimsuit.... I've lost a few inches.... and several pounds. Which is very nice. I like it.... Hubby can get his arms all the way around me now. Dad called me skinny (I'm still fat, but not soooooo phat). Mom started watching her eating a bit, too, and I learned how to go out to eat and not pig out.... not overeat. I've even learned how to leave food on the plate without feeling guilty (poor starving children in China. no, wait, India... no, maybe Africa....)
Hoping to make the eating plan permanent so I can stay healthy, and I'm really looking forward to the results of my blood test next month. I've quit the cholesterol meds.... quit the tummy pills.... Maybe I'll be able to get off the synthroid, too. Wow!!! wouldn't that be great for an old woman like me? to decrease instead of increase consumed medicines? Hot diggity!!!!!
oh.... you want to know what plan it is? the one that works for me?
6-Week Body Make-Over
It's been 7 weeks now, and I'm currently maintaining a weight of 24 pounds less than when I started. I'm still trimming up, switching fat for muscle, and hoping to get back on track and drop four to five more pounds before I weigh in at the doctor's office. It'll happen!!!!
Before and after pics will go up when I hit my goal.
