04/04/2005: "Synthetic Fuel a Possibility?"

"All of us are aware of the continual rise in the cost of foreign fuel, perhaps more so within the last few months than ever before. It's time to correct that problem and eliminate the dependency on that product and at the same time improve the economic growth in this country.
"We can achieve these goals through production of synthetic fuels from a natural and replenishing resource that until now was cost-prohibitive to harvest. Grain fuels, which in the past, produced insufficient profits to mass-produce, are becoming more and more feasible. We have the technological ability, and the availability of raw product abundant in this country to now pursue mass-production of this resource.
"Since we as a motor fuel consuming society grow daily more dependent on this product, it is imperative that we change our mindset from purchasing foreign oil, to manufacturing our own synthetic product for our needs. We have much to gain from this venture through job growth in manufacturing, distributing, sale, and farm production of a product in mass demand.
"I encourage you to contact your senators and congressmen to solicit their assistance in developing the correct atmosphere in this nation to promote this product, through tax incentives to both producers of grain, and manufacturing companies that provide the facilities to produce this product. Let’s not continue to send our monies overseas to be used for unknown purposes, but stand up and correct a problem that is now financially feasible to confront."
