Did some research for Jeb's twin and came out with the following for why the Sandisk Mini-Cruzer key wasn't being properly recognized........

Static energy kills cruzer-mini so computers don't recognize the disks.

If that doesn't work right off, it might not be "completely killed"

so try

http://www.killdisk.com/

Make sure you kill the sandisk, not your hard drive ;-)

then try to format through Computer Management/Disk Management

and if that doesn't work, try the hp download again.

If that doesn't work, the sandisk is all the way dead.
