02/01/2006: "Whatcha Been Doin?"
Been getting a lot of questions like that lately. How do we start? ummmmm..... click on the more link--it'll probably be a long story!
Well, we're still in Avon Park at the camp. We're making a photo directory this year, again, but this time it's just the picture directory with no sales pitches, and you buy a copy if you want one. Ed O'Neal is our photographer and directory assembler, but to make this a Women's Auxiliary project and "fundraiser", we're doing a lot of the work toward the final project.
Well, what does that mean to me? Setting up and keeping a database, preparing ALPHA directory, organizing the various photos to collage pages to send Joe for more work.... You know.
Then there are our Spanish classes. We are being introduced, but not exactly practicing like we should for the lessons to take well. Seems there are so many interruptions. Mebbe somebody should make the labels and stick them on stuff like she told her husband she would. Yes, when there's time. Mebbe when we get back to KY.
And there is swimming classes, for the exercise. We don't like to hurt and need to keep flexed out. Plus shop at the nearly new stores afterwards. Addie didn't know what she was in for!!!
And the pups. A person has to torment the mama dog by petting her pups and stuff, plus walk mama dog. Well, Ebbie. She still needs her exercise, don'tcha know, and walking is good for a person, too.
And choir practice, when we can get to it. Millie and I have a secret about how we got the sopranos to blend better with the seconds and altos. It's really helped. Plus it's fun having a secret.
Let me think... oh yes, keeping up with Smallville and important stuff like that--Desperate Housewives, ya know.
Yes, and calling back to KY to make sure people remember us. They do! And even Dewey sent me that old joke about Dear Abby. He's so baaaaaad!!! I know yall up there miss us, and we'll be back before you know it. Probably in time for the Tobacco Warehouse auctions. We might be looking for a flatbed one-ton. Let us know if you come across one.
Speaking of which, hubby is sick in bed with a cold that I'm not catching yet. Hoping he's up and around and healthy soon. I miss the bike-rides to Checkers. Plus who's to hug?
Then there was the ladies' meeting today. Some good news there: the puter stuff has blessedly come under the auspices of the Women's Auxiliary. Yay! That means we can turn it into a fund-raiser AND Mom and I will (hopefully) get some help for classes and individual assistance.
Speaking of which, I have the Word Processing class ready to go, nearly practically almost, except for the disk version; the Picture class is well on it's way. The sign-ups are coming along quite nicely. Over-crowded with participants, but we'll get that sorted out soon enough. Home visits reveal the best fit of classes to students.
Oops! I nearly left out the Camp Newspapers, which I'm pleased to be assisting Joe some with this year. It'll let him get a couple of nights sleep during camp, at least, and having some connections, Friar Tuck has joined the camp by proxy, as has The Strange Preacher, who has really been around for quite some time.
And Press Releases. Don't want to forget the press releases!! Time to get them sent to radios and newspapers TODAY!!!!!!!!!! Guess I better get off here and get to it. There's more, but I really need to stop typing now and get on that job!
P.S. For every computer thing I do, it is one less room to clean, and five fewer dishes to wash. So far I have no cleaning duty or KP. Wahoo!!!!!!!
