05/03/2006: "The Puppy"
Yes, we also got a new puppy, but this one is even more so very special.....
Ebbie and Tanner produced three black miniature poodles... I got the best one. Annie (Daisy) was the spunkiest, with the most personality; Luke is the chubbiest, and very adorable; mine, Bo, is the absolutely most loving and smartest of all.
Bo says, "Here is my daily schedule.... go to bed about 9 or 9:30 in the crate. Wake Mom somewhere between 1 and 4 am to potty, then back to bed in the crate. At precisely 6 am I have to go potty again, and get petted. This is also the time Mommy is supposed to get on the couch and take a nap so I can rest with her.
"Then Daddy gets up and we have breakfast and go outside in the yard. I have my very own yard so I can stay out there while Mom and Dad go to town, or they can come and stay in the yard with me and play. The rest of the day is in the yard, in the house, in the shop, or in the crate, all depending on what THEY are doing.
"I have my very own go-potty place outside, but I can really pee or poo anywhere in the yard I want to! It's so cool! In the house I have to go on papers, but sometimes I go on the bathroom floor when nobody is looking.
"Mommy gives me a bath every week, and last weekend Auntie Kay cut my bangs so I could see. Mommy brushes me sometimes, and Mom and Dad take turns giving me something to eat and drink. I like the stuff better wet sometimes. Me too. I like to get me wet. Mommy thinks I'm so cute she's going to leave me in a teddy-bear cut so everybody doesn't think I'm a stuck-up poodle. I guess that's okay, too.
"One of my favorite things is when Mommy gets on the computer and isn't paying attention to me... I like to sneak between her feet and try to chew on the wires! Isn't that a hoot!!!!!
"My best thing of all is when Mommy comes home from work. I dance the way my biological mommy taught me and we laugh. I get lots of petting then."
Well, you can tell he's an inside dog with outside privileges and outside pottying. It's easier training a pup when you make up your mind before you get him how you want to raise him. It's also easier when you were there to watch him be born and to pet him every day.
I'm smiling.
