08/17/2007: "~ Jon's Reception weekend.... plus some tidbits ~"

Well, we all showed up (not all spouses and kids, but US), and AK and I had a motel so we could visit and potty privately and take a shower without waiting or inconveniencing anybody. That was great!

....

It was very very very very hot (hanging in around 100 degrees) but Mom and Dad's air conditioning held up really well for such a crowd of people.

First the bad stuff: Mel's dog bit my finger and I had to get a tetanus shot--but it's nearly healed now; a waspy ant stung me on the very same finger and it swelled up double size, as did part of my hand--but it is better now, too; running off the side of the road on the way home--but I "woke up" when I heard the side tracks, so no real problem (Thanks Father for watching over me yet again. I love the angels you send to keep me safe.)

The fun stuff: playing with three dogs and watching them play with each other; seeing all the sisters and brother again after just seeing them for CL's wedding in May; seeing MS happy with her new feller; getting a new SIL; watching Jon's boys with their new sister.

We had good food. Sara practiced her massage techniques. I didn't have to play fantan. I did play Chuzzle. I didn't have to fix any computers. I did dishes with Mel like the old days, only better because AK and CL joined in while Johnny grinned, and I didn't get my feelings hurt when MS pointed out a place I missed. 'bout time, I'd say.

Mom doctored my finger both times. My back wasn't hurting except a smidge one morning. BoBo was excited to see me and showed his best manners.

I got so full and fat that it encouraged me to go back on my eating plan hubby got me a coupla years ago that worked so well. I feel better already. But my back is still hurting and my ankles when I try to work or exercise. Oh well. Probably no worse than any old woman! hehe!

FeeFee taught me a thing or two about attitudes. I think she taught me. I noticed what she said and how, and hope I can incorporate them. But not here. Just IRL.

God bless yall. Sign my guestbook! I think this one will be a keeper. It is moderated, which means the spam can't get in. woohoo! Glad I came across it.

Looking for more improvements to do while I'm retired again.

No doctor appts until end of month, so don't ask until September, okay?
