08/29/2007: "~ Ohio Cousins ~"

Well, all that travel and I forgot to take a picture of Earl and Ginny.

It's nice to be off work so that I can travel with Mom and Dad. Earl and Ginny seemed nearly as glad to see us as we were to see them! Ginny is getting around much better than a couple of weeks ago, and I can see where she is making great progress with her new knee.

I was hoping to see some cousins on this trip, but wasn't sure we'd be going soon enough to make any plans, so when Mark remembered about Gary's retirement open house, it provided a great opening to visit Sylvia, Doloros, and Kathy. Dean and Katie and Rachel had come to the house, and we took a side-trip to see Mabel and her babies.

Something about being in the "homeplace" that made me feel roots or something this time. Not home, of course, but something very different.

Oh, and we went to New Bremen and saw where they tore down the bakery and where I used to live and where Dukey lived.
