11/19/2008: "~ Whew! and Vista SP1 ~"

Okay, then.... I'm recovering from a long long month, looking forward to a CA visit, and spreading the word on Vista SP1 support.

Front page item is the CA visit.... a week with the grandkids for a 2nd birthday and Thanksgiving. It'll be grand! (that's why I'm a grand-mother, huh?)






Secondly, Mom is out of the hospital from her hip replacement and healing slowly (it hurts, don'tcha know) but making great progress. I stayed with Dad while she was in for over two weeks, and was there, fortunately when he "fell and couldn't get up" so we could call 911 to take him to the hospital... he was 40 miles northwest, she was 35 miles south of their home....

Dad made a remarkable recovery, due we KNOW to prayers. He was not well at all, and is recovering nicely. Both are on walkers, which qualifies them to four mornings a week of Rachel (housekeeper) for a month. Oh, and during part of that time, Cindy and Mel took over staying at the house (and Brownie) so we could go up to my reunion.... more on that in another entry.

Lastly, Vista SP1 has free support through March 2009, so I had my first experience with REAL Microsoft support. Shabeer and Mike were most excellent. I learned a lot and highly recommend taking advantage of the free service. -- I still prefer my Mac, though! wouldn't have had the crashing from the updates.
