08/03/2009: "~ Ubuntu and Flash... ~"

No, I'm not a Linux expert. Just wanted a small footprint without annoying viruses, etc. for hubby's machine. Linux dudes sent me to Ubuntu, which is quite nice, but flash would not install. With the help of guru Phil, I found my way around and discovered the problem......




Using a third party software designed to let you change which version of flash you are using, I discovered that Firefox wants to put plugins in the user's folder, not in the usr. you know, the .mozilla one.... and I was able to point it that direction. hey, wait! it works for MY user file, what about hubby's? oh no! gotta go run and test it! Anyway, I DO like Ubuntu okay. Thanks Phil for the quick lesson on commands!

It works. Whew! Smarter than the average bear, I am. No offense, BooBoo!
