Gateway is proprietary, yes, as are the other names. Thing is, somebody didn't do their homework and ordered a part that should have fit; so what happened?

Well, after spending forever and a year trying to get it to work, we research on the web and find out that this one particular Gateway board is not compatible with this processor upgrade. Swell. Just this one board with this one chipset. Just this combination. crap.

Frustrating, and money goes out today instead of coming in. And it's a sweaty extra warm day. I'm taking a cold bath.
