Patty's Ponderings

I don't think I'm hard-headed. I do think I like things the way I like them, though. so?

Tommy you are supposed to go to joker and let me know if you like me better with or without, then tell me if one of those will do or if we should try again with pictures on a plain or other background. I'm thinking I like with. Well, with has a nicer smile, too. Probably I feel more comfortable there.

y'all are gonna miss a good time if you don't go Sunday to the KWC/Globetrotters game! Same time as the 7th game, I think, but oh well, huh? Maybe AZ can hurry up and beat the Yankees. After all, Judith is there now, and she wants to celebrate. We can call her whenever she gets a phone.

Don't tell anybody, but I tried something on a computer and it didn't work and now I have 90 times the work to do. Waah. Think I'll go to bed and cover my head and hide from myself.

The little girl next door is learning trick or treat. Say hello to Sierra. She is waiting to play with my grandbaby when he comes for Christmas, and has already adopted Princess. I'm waiting for a picture of grandson in his dinosaur costume.

We found out that Zen REALLY likes books, and expects them to be read to him. Seems he enjoyed story time at the bookstore this morning, but didn't understand about the lady who was reading a perfectly good book and her lips weren't even moving. From what I hear, he decided to take it to somebody who knew how to read. Bet she was surprised!!

Junie and Kevin wanted pics to show their friends, so I helped them out a bit. You can click on their links to see how wonderful they turned out. My big sister is a grandma too, so when Mom sent me pics, I made her a page. They aren't anything but a collection of pictures, but at least a person can send a link instead of all the pics by email. Then you can look at them when you are ready instead of having your email box clogged up. (Hint, Hint, Phil, who just sent 2.6 mg file to somebody who only gets a boonie-style 26,400 connect--Boo!)

Bruno! heh! I heard from Bruno! He's the guy what turned me on so in high school but I wasn't allowed to like him because he was (you're not gonna believe this one, folks...) Italian!

Okay, so here is another pic of my grandbaby. Isn't he absolutely gorgeous?

Ty didn't even see Bambi, and what's more he got sick and couldn't come to church today.

Judith shared some interesting news from "CHICAGO - The war on terrorism took a strange and sad turn Friday when airline officials at O'Hare International Airport refused to let a 73-year-old grandmother board her plane as she had in her possession two six-inch knitting needles. Apparently authorities were worried that she might knit an Afghan."

Thanks, Judith. Just what is this world coming to? I heard on TV that cocaine use is on the decline because the white powder has been targeted for anthrax.

Don't know if Donna and Joan will find this spot, but I've been thinking about Joan's momma who died this week, recalling the fun times we had with her in BUNCO and on the Panther Express. Yes, I have moved away and hadn't seen them for quite a while, but I will always keep Lois alive in my heart. Peace and rest, Momma! Welcome home.

Mike preached today from Micah, Crux verse 6:8--"He has told you, O man, what is proper, and what the LORD really wants from you: He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God." This was in reference to 1:1 "This is the prophetic message that the LORD gave to Micah of Moresheth. He delivered this message during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. The prophecies pertain to Samaria and Jerusalem." The people wanted to save their country from outside terror by "appeasing God" and wanted to know what gifts to bring Him, how much it would cost to get God to favor them again. The prophet's answer is as for us today, to live a life responsive to His will for you (I add, rather than fighting against Him or imposing your own will).

My response: Sometimes it seems easier to give up things than to allow the creator/sustainer to indwell you. It can be more comfortable to give money than to give of yourself. It is quicker to turn away from disturbing situations than to proactively work to bring about justice, peace, and harmony.

Max and Judy--prayers for you both. Max, for your peace, and Judy for you to hear the call of your heavenly father in accordance with your mother's prayers. God be with you both. Love you.

I don't know, boonies is good. We are getting ready for the annual Halloween arson. Seems some heartless cops came by and confiscated the tires that were being carefully gathered for the celebration, so June and Regenia are trying to get them to take their old ones. Can't get rid of stuff you want to, though.

Seriously, though, people are getting ready. Like the house a couple doors from me that is vacant: the people that own it actually put wheels on the car that's been on blocks for a couple years and drove it away just in case. They also had a practice arson that was just a tire or two just past my house on the side of the road. I mean, a guy has to be ready for Halloween so he can do it up right.

Saw Ty this morning at the Cafe. He said he was going hunting later today to shoot Bambi. Can't wait till tomorrow to see if he did or not. Said he didn't get any squirrels, but rabbit season is coming in and he likes rabbit better anyway. If you don't know Ty, he's maybe 5 years old. Cute, cute!

I remember a discussion not too very long ago about why we chose the partner-for-life we did.

Today I'm thinking, why did our partner-for-life choose us? I mean, I know Hubby was impressed with my math skills, but, geez, like, why did Tommy's wife, for instance, choose him?
