I did it. I'm outta there. Mostly. Keeping the one mindspring main email address with the limited account for my emergencies and so that I can get my newsgroups, but I've switched. I've really done it. I've switched to OOL. When their newsgroups come up, might even drop it.

Kewl, as they say. Why? to save money, of course. ELNK local numbers are too slow to suit me, and we aren't paying for the extended calling anymore. OOL has a better connect because of the v90, where local ELNK is only 33.6. I've noticed that with my customers, and decided to go with it myself.

So, it's converted.

years and years and years and years. Man! that's thirty years! I'd have it no other way and it's better today than ever. Whoever woulda thunk it, huh?

Gateway is proprietary, yes, as are the other names. Thing is, somebody didn't do their homework and ordered a part that should have fit; so what happened? [more]
